Learn To Sing Harmony Course

We are very pleased to announce our free 2025 Learn To Sing Harmony Course,
which begins in January and lasts for 6 weeks.

If you’ve ever been interested in singing and wondered how to start or have been
singing in the past and would like to get back into singing with a choir again, then
here’s an opportunity to do so.

It’s a chance for men interested in singing, with any level of previous experience, to
sing with other male voices. It’s in a safe environment, singing with others on the
course and then sitting with experienced choir members in rehearsals.

It’s a totally free six weeks course, with all course materials provided, and without
any obligation to stay with us after you finish. But we hope you will! We hope you will
enjoy spending a few hours each week with 30 or so other like-minded, friendly
singers, singing a range of songs, with the opportunity of being part of a concert
performance at some time in the near future, if you so wish.

The course details are below, and, if you’re interested in finding out more, or

The LMVC’s 8 week Singing in Harmony course has just concluded after being re-instated following a two year compulsory break due to Covid 19.

This 3rd running of the course was intended to help to bring in new blood to the choir by offering a taste of what choral singing can offer to men of any age who arrived with or without musical or singing experience, as voice coaching and music theory were integral to the event.

This year, week by week, the 6 widely experienced course members all felt that they built their confidence in the understanding of and the reading of music and managed to improve their vocal capability from whatever base they started, so that in the final week, they were able to sing with the LMVC in an informal concert to a small invited audience of friends and family during which they received certificates from the choir’s president to recognise their achievements.

It was very satisfying to be able to develop the vocal talent of these singers and was especially rewarding when all the course members who completed the course decided to join and become part of the fellowship of the choir and so adding new voices to each section of the choir

As one of the course members remarked during the course, “singing is a holistic experience, helping developing the body, mind and spirit – a positive experience that can benefit your physical and mental health.”

Anyone can sing, it’s just a matter of degree and a willingness to have a go and see what can be achieved with a little application and experienced guidance.

But you don’t have to attend a LMVC course to have a go.

Just turn up at Trinity Methodist Church, Royland Road, Loughborough on a Thursday evening at about 7.15 or so and you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome and be guided through the evening by as friendly a group of chaps as you’ve ever met.

Why not have a go? There is no audition required and no expectation that you join the choir, only that you give it a fair chance and see how you get on.
