Learn To Sing Harmony Course

We are very pleased to announce our free 2025 Learn To Sing Harmony Course,
which begins in January and lasts for 6 weeks.

If you’ve ever been interested in singing and wondered how to start or have been
singing in the past and would like to get back into singing with a choir again, then
here’s an opportunity to do so.

It’s a chance for men interested in singing, with any level of previous experience, to
sing with other male voices. It’s in a safe environment, singing with others on the
course and then sitting with experienced choir members in rehearsals.

It’s a totally free six weeks course, with all course materials provided, and without
any obligation to stay with us after you finish. But we hope you will! We hope you will
enjoy spending a few hours each week with 30 or so other like-minded, friendly
singers, singing a range of songs, with the opportunity of being part of a concert
performance at some time in the near future, if you so wish.

The course details are below, and, if you’re interested in finding out more, or

Beermats, Baritones & Ballads

With beermats & beverages, Loughborough Male Voice Choir & Charnwood Arts launched their 2024 campaign to promote the many benefits of Men Singing Together.

Around 30 LMVC Choir members, Charnwood Arts staff and pub-locals joined Shirley Novak, CEO of Charnwood Arts, in ceremoniously placing the first of 1000 beermats promoting our welcoming choir at the White Hart Pub in Loughborough on
May 22nd.

As a society, we need to redefine what it means to care; and LMVC have been working hard behind-the-scenes for some months preparing this promotional initiative to support men in caring for their physical & mental health and well-being.

We know that singing helps us physically & mentally, and being with our friends here at the choir, even just once a week, can help us to look forward to living our lives to the best we can.

LMVC secured financial & design support from Charnwood Arts for the creation of two new pop-up banners, and 1000 beermats promoting our choir. These will be used to raise awareness of LMVC and to recruit & support new members at concerts and various pop-up events we have planned throughout the Charnwood Region this year.

Look out for our beermats, you will see them at many local pubs, sports clubs, cafes over the coming weeks.

Each beermat contains a QR-code which directs to an LMVC webpage explaining more about this initiative, our choir, and how to get involved.

Following the success of the launch, Charnwood Arts have agreed fund a further 1000 beermats, so we can spread the word even further.

LMVC is sincerely grateful to Charnwood Arts for the support they continue to provide us with.

So, ‘Raise Your Glass’, and ‘Raise Your Voice’ to Loughborough Male Voice Choir & Charnwood Arts. Men, come and sing with us and enjoy the benefits!

Watch this space for furthur updates to our beermat initiative or come and see us at one of our upcoming events.

And many supporters. Yes,
the East Yorks Tour May 24 was, we all believe, a success.

This was a tour conceived and put together by Dai, developed and managed by him, Bob and Tim C, and wonderfully orchestrated by this threesome over the 3 days of the tour. The choir was, as usual, expertly conducted by Chris H, inimitably accompanied by Paul G with expert page-turner, Trish. And the supporters were wonderful in their support, attendance, and clapping, much clapping.

Yes, it was a bit of a stretch, 5 belting concerts in a short time, and, yes, some of the venues may not have been as prepared for us as we would have hoped, but did we hold our end up in our joint concert with Driffield MVC? Yes, we think we did, and sang with confidence, energy, harmony and sheer enjoyment.

A good tour, a good three days, and many smiles and laughs throughout. What more could we want?
