On The Road! Part 3
part of our initiative to be seen and become better known by people in Loughborough and the surrounding area.
For our weekly rehearsal last Thursday, 16th October, we visited The Pavilion in East Leake, as part of our initiative to be seen and become better known by people in Loughborough and the surrounding villages. We visited Quorn and Gorse Covert earlier in the year, and this latest venture was well received by those who came to watch. We had around 20 visitors, who came to hear us rehearse, have refreshments and a chat with us, and then listen to a short performance of some of the pieces from our current repertoire.
Our thanks go to our audience, the ladies who helped prepare and serve refreshments, the staff at The Pavilion, and to Debbie from the Co-op Community Fund, sponsors of this year-long outreach initiative.
We are planning a further open rehearsal early in the new year, so watch this space for details, and, if you have time on a Thursday evening, come along and listen. We’ll be pleased to see you.
We’d love to see you.
We had the pleasure in presenting our annual Autumn Concert on Saturday 25th October in Trinity Methodist Church. For the first time for a while, we presented the complete concert ourselves, without inviting another choir to share the programme. And, from the feedback we’ve received, it seems this was a worthwhile decision, as we received many messages of support and thanks from our supporters and friends.
We sang as a whole choir for many pieces from this year’s repertoire, and these groups of songs were separated by solo and duet presentations from choir members. Refreshments were served, raffle prizes won, applause was heard, and our heartfelt thanks were given to our audience at the end of the evening.
A satisfactory opening concert to this seasons’ presentations, as we now focus on our Christmas pieces.
So, thank you for continuing to support us, and we look forward to seeing you all again in the near future.
